Hands can be tricky to paint. Been doing some studies to refamiliarize myself with them. You never graduate from being a student of art.

I’m excited to reveal the first of three pieces for the songs of the talented Brent McCudden, based in Australia and known around the world as Oatis. It was inspiring collaborating with a musician with a shared vision. I highly recommend giving his soulful tunes a listen.

Publishing is a tough business. As an illustrator you can spend many months working on a cover, through multiple stages of editors giving big thumbs up, only to have the piece killed at the last minute. So while I’m busy with new projects, here’s a peak at two covers from the recent past that won’t be appearing on bookstore shelves.

It’s hard to summarize the Burning Man experience because there are so many layers to it. The week is challenging, awe-inspiring, frustrating, communal, independent, and overwhelming. I’m grateful for having been able to return. I wish everyone were able go at least once to see what a future of acceptance, generosity, and expression can look like.
